Welcome

Welcome to St Mary’s Walberton in West Sussex, where people have encountered God’s love in Jesus for over a thousand years. We are a community of people on a journey together, committed to loving God and loving Community in all that we do.

We express our love for God in a rich variety of worship – from the beauty and rich tradition of Anglican liturgy and music to the informality of our ‘Morning Praise'.  We seek to show our love for our community throughout the week in a range of activities and events, and through working in partnership with others.  We find support for our life’s journey through opportunities to meet for prayer, learning and friendship tailored to different ages and needs.

As well as Walberton village, our parish includes Avisford Grange and Fontwell, including Fontwell Meadows. For nearly 100 years we have also been linked with our other parish in our benefice, that of Binsted, with its delightful Norman church also dedicated to St Mary. (If you would like to know more about what is happening in Binsted, do have a look at the village website 'Click here') If you live in any of these communities St Mary’s is your parish church.

If you are visiting the area St Mary’s stands ready to welcome you.  Whatever your reason for coming here – whether you are in need of help; searching for a church; looking forward to your wedding or christening; exploring faith or simply passing by – come and see us soon. We would love to meet you.

Familes at 5 - Pet service

On Sunday 6 October at our Families at 5pm Service we are inviting families to bring their pet to be blessed. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the goodness of God in creation and our relationship with the animal kingdom as we hear the story of how Adam gave each creature its name. Do bring a picture of your pet if you can’t bring the actual creature! Refreshments afterwards.

Many thanks

Rev Tim Ward
