Rated ‘OUTSTANDING’ by Ofsted: “the quality of teaching and support for children’s learning is exceptional.”
FUN, FRIENDSHIP AND LEARNING FOR ALL CHILDREN AGED 2-5 YEARS.
Walberton Pre-School is owned and managed by Helen Baxter and Mandy Foulds, who both live in Walberton. We have run pre-school together for over 14 years and have seen over 400 children come and go… we are privileged to have worked with many and varied children and families.
Our families come from a wide area and children leave us to move onto their local ‘big school’. This year these schools include Walberton & Binsted CE Primary School, Slindon CE Primary School, Barnham Primary School, St Philips Catholic Primary School in Arundel, Downview School in Bognor and St Anthonys School in Chichester.
The pre-school runs from Walberton Village Hall where we are supported by a fantastic and enthusiastic staff team. We open for morning sessions during school term times, from 9.15am until 12.15pm.
We are registered by Ofsted, Registration No. EY281732. We were last inspected in November 2015 and were delighted to be given their highest grade – Outstanding. The full report is available to view online, via the Ofsted website.
We take children from the age of 2, until they leave us to go to school. We are fairly unique in that we operate 2 separate classes; the younger children (age 2 and 3) join our Robins Class in the smaller back room at the Village Hall, and the older children (age 3 and 4 and preparing to leave us to go to school in the Autumn Term), join our Owls class in the large hall. This system has been tried and tested and we know children thrive whilst in their peer groups.
Both classes have access to a safe, secure outside area for the children to explore, discover and learn. The pre-school children also have supervised access to an open playing field and fenced public play-park.
